Reading "Finish Strong 1st" Spring 2025

Want to give that extra push in 1st grade literacy skills before summer? Direct, comprehensive literacy instruction can do the trick! We will fine tune and strengthen those reading skills in our next round of reading camp by focusing on phonological awareness, sound identification, decoding/encoding, vocabulary and fluency. Students will learn to become better readers through multi-sensory experiences and direct instruction which directly matches regular classroom instruction. We will also use a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts to explicitly teach comprehension strategies that your child can apply when reading independently.
